Alberta Cancer Exercise: Maintenance Level 2 - adults

About this event

In a community-oriented setting, those living with and beyond cancer will focus on progressing their fitness. Recommended for those who have completed the Alberta Cancer Exercise (ACE): Maintenance Level 1 program at least once and are currently physically active and ready for the next level to continue to progress fitness. Through moderate to high intensity exercises, you will work on increasing overall strength, balance and stability, as well as mental wellness. As a continuation of the ACE: Maintenance Level 1 class, you will take part in: two moderate to high intensity 60-minute group exercise classes each week circuit style class combining aerobic and strength training exercises, with the appropriate progression to further improve your fitness and wellness beyond what was achieved in the ACE: Maintenance Level 1 class Prerequisite: Recently participated in Alberta Cancer Exercise: Maintenance Level 1 program (at least once). This class is appropriate for those that have completed treatment (apart from taking an oral hormone therapy) and all other chronic conditions are considered medically stable. Please bring: Clean indoor shoes, water bottle Forms/waivers: If you will start treatment during this 12-week session, are currently on treatment (apart from an oral hormone therapy), or have advanced or metastatic cancer, please contact the Health & Wellness Lab at the University of Calgary prior to registering by calling 403-210-8482 or emailing ace@ucalgary.ca to ensure these classes will be appropriate for you.

Private swim lessons - all ages

Any age or ability can take part in this swim lesson. You will work with an instructor to customize your lesson plan and swimming goals. Semi-private lessons are also available to swimmers from the same household of roughly the same age and ability.
