About this event

Learn advanced lifesaving skills that will prepare you for lifeguarding. Bronze Cross is needed for all advanced training programs, including National Lifeguard and Instructor certifications. Full attendance is required and a practical test must be passed for certification. You will focus on learning: safe supervision techniques for aquatic facilities strengthening and expanding current lifesaving skills teamwork and communication for preventing and responding to aquatic emergencies Prerequisite: Bronze Medallion Award and a current Alberta workplace approved Intermediate First Aid Certification Please bring: Swimsuit, towel Forms/waivers: None

Fitness Alberta® Aquatic Exercise Specialty Course

Through classroom learning and practical experience with other participants, you will learn the skills necessary to become a certified aquatic fitness instructor. Full attendance is required and a practical exam must be passed for certification. This swimming class will increase your toddler's swimming skills and knowledge. This beginner swimming lesson will continue to increase your kid/teen's confidence in and around the water. They will learn: sideways entries into the pool while wearing a lifejacket interval training whip kicks in a vertical position distance swims front and back crawl Prerequisite: Swimmer 1 or Preschool 5 Please bring: Swimsuit, towel Forms/waivers: None

Swim & Lifesaving Instructor - teens & adults

Sunday, March 22, 2026 • 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM

You will learn lifesaving techniques that will allow you to teach Swim for Life® swimming lessons, Canadian Swim Patrol, Bronze Star, Bronze Medallion and Bronze Cross courses. You will: learn lifesaving techniques including First Aid and CPR be introduced to leadership and teaching skills take part in practical training Prerequisite: 15 years old and Bronze Cross or higher (candidates must present this award on the first day of the course). Intermediate First Aid, CPR-C & AED recertification

Sunday, March 22, 2026 • 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM

After completing the course, you will be recertified in Intermediate First Aid, CPR-C and AED. You will: go over new First Aid and CPR techniques be refreshed on skills learned previously take part in practical exercises Prerequisite: A current, non-expired Alberta workplace approved Intermediate First Aid certification Please bring: Comfortable clothing, pen, notebook, water bottle, snacks Forms/waivers: None
