About this event

In this two-week summer camp, campers will work on their CANSail 3 skills in a 420 dinghy. They will also grow their sailing knowledge and teamwork skills. Campers will work on: sailing in winds up to 40 km/hr integrating previous skills learned with new tactics building on boat handling manoeuvers and balance basic racing knowledge Prerequisite: CANSail 2 or CANSail 2 Opti, and must weigh over 85 lbs. Please bring: A healthy lunch and snack, refillable water bottle, any necessary medication, closed-toe non-slip footwear, a full change of clothes, rain gear and sunscreen. Forms/waivers: Day Camp Participant Information Form – available in the “My Forms” section of your Live and Play account , Medication Permission and Record Form – Print only, Sailing Lessons - Child – Print only, and Sail Canada and Checklick – Print only.

Campers who have previous sailing experience will increase their sailing knowledge on the water in a 420 dinghy and during in-class learning. Kids and teens new to sailing will be introduced to basic techniques and skills. In a 420 dinghy, they will learn: how to sail in winds up to 30 km/hr sailing in open water with a partner propulsion direction balance Prerequisite: Must weigh more than 85 lbs.
