About this event

Continue to improve your fitness in these supportive exercise oncology classes alongside a group of your peers. This is offered to those living with and beyond cancer that have completed the Alberta Cancer Exercise (ACE): Baseline Program. As a continuation to the ACE Baseline Program, you will take part in: two moderate intensity 60-minute group exercise classes each week circuit style class combining aerobic and strength training exercises, with the appropriate progression to further improve your fitness and wellness beyond what was achieved in the baseline class of ACE Prerequisite: Recently completed the Alberta Cancer Exercise: Baseline Program This class is appropriate for those that have completed treatment (apart from taking an oral hormone therapy) and all other chronic conditions that are considered medically stable. Please bring: Clean indoor shoes, water bottle Forms/waivers: If you will start treatment during this 12-week session, are currently on treatment (apart from an oral hormone therapy), or have advanced or metastatic cancer, please contact the Health & Wellness Lab at the University of Calgary prior to registering by calling 403-210-8482 or emailing ace@ucalgary.ca to ensure these classes will be appropriate for you.

Essentrics® stretch & strengthen - teens & adults

This class is built on the dynamic and fluid movements of Essentrics® principles. This advanced level class is designed for participants who have a solid foundation in Pilates principles and are ready to challenge their strength, flexibility and control through a series of dynamic mat-based exercises.
